Bahrain, officially the Kingdom of Bahrain, is a small island country in Western Asia, located in the Persian Gulf. It lies near the western shores of the Gulf, east of Saudi Arabia, to which it is connected by the King Fahd Causeway, and north of Qatar. Bahrain is known for its financial sector, oil resources, and modern urban development.
Bahrain covers an area of approximately 780 square kilometres and has a population of around 1.8 million people. Despite its small size, Bahrain is a regional economic and cultural hub in the Gulf.
